(#31) Fullmetal Alchemist S1 (2003) - [8/10]

Updated: Apr 8, 2019

Sample Premise.

In the fictitious country of Amestris, two young brothers, Edward and Alphonse Elric, are bestowed with the gift of alchemy - the supernatural ability to transform matter. This becomes a burden after their mother dies from an illness before they figure out how to use their alchemic skills. Edward loses his left leg and Alphonse's entire body is unusable. The boys replace their deformities with prosthetic limbs and become Full Metal Alchemists as they seek out the legendary Philosopher's Stone to heal themselves.

How would I describe this show in one word?

Sample word.

Note So I just finished watching this anime quite recently.

Review Gotta admit, it's pretty philosophical, scientific and depressing. There's enough action, blood and humor for anyone acquainted with that style. But at the same time, the whole plot turned out to be a little confusing at times due to the number of relevant characters involved and the complexity of alchemy. Nevertheless, Fullmetal Alchemist is a guaranteed fun filled, eye watering, wild ride spanning over 51 episodes. I'd recommend watching it in Japanese with subtitles cause the translated English audio is pretty bland, tedious and inaccurate. I'd give it... RATING: 8/10

Director: Seiji Mizushima Rated: TV-PG Runtime: 24 min/episode Genre: Animation, Action, Adventure Starring: Vic Mignogna, Aaron Dismuke, Romi Pak
