How would I describe this film in one word?
Sample word.
Note
Personally, not a huge fan of the drama/romance genre, but this film hit me pretty hard.
Review It follows the attempts of a guy to make amends to a deaf girl he used to bully relentlessly back in elementary school. It's a story that seeks to cover the themes of redemption, depression, guilt and communication. I was particularly impressed by the film’s portrayal of how one’s shady past will affect his future. The lead character, Shoya, is unable to move on from the horrible nature of his past and so, he’s constantly plagued with self-loathing and suicidal Much like Your Name, this film is amazing with regards to its aesthetic animation and gripping screenplay.
I'd recommend this beauty to anyone who’s yet to move on from the dark side of their past and is currently undergoing a phase of guilt imposed self-hatred, introversion and pessimism. The film's Manga covers more details in the lives of its characters, so if you're interested, you could read that before watching the film. Overall, it's a guaranteed eye watering feast that'll stay in your heart forever. I’ll give it… RATING: 9/10
