How would I describe this film in one word?
Sample word.
Note
It’s a shame when a psychological/horror anime terrifies you more than the ones coming out of Hollywood. Perfect Blue narrates the story of Mima, a young pop idol who quits her band to start a career as a movie star.
Review This films really weird, it messes your mind. Satoshi Kon, the director, portrays the idea of duality experienced by the protagonist, in a fluid yet bizarre and confusing style. It perfectly shows the struggle of the main character to accept her new self after a traumatizing incident. It's the 90s aesthetics with a more realistic appearance.
Though the plot and fluidity between scenes can be confusing, Perfect Blue does not fail to terrify you with its sheer brutal violence, contrasting soundtracks and the brilliant plot Mist. The fear instilled by this film is realistic and does not rely on supernatural elements or silly jump scares, a must-watch for psychological horror fans. Perfect Blue broadened my perspective on the scope of animation in general and its undeniably one of best animated film I’ve seen. I'd give it… RATING: 9/10
