An extra-terrestrial is gifted exceptional powers but during her stumble on earth, discovers there's more to her story.

How would I describe this film in one word?
Special-effects.
Note Everyone who I knew that saw this film has rated it poorly, but for some reason I seemed to have liked it. That being the reason for the seemingly high rating.
Review
Marvel brings out yet another enjoyable production which applies the similar time-tested origin-story formula of a would-be superhero on a journey of self-discovery which eventually unleashes a fully-fledged version of the protagonist. It's a familiar recipe, but a recipe we can't seem to get tired of. Only in this one, I found that the film's storyline was structured in an unusual chronology - I found the storyline intriguing, especially how it coveyed wonderful plot twists. I initially had my doubts about Brie Larson and how she'd portray the character. But she did it well. Not overly admirable. What was admirable though, was the incredible special effects and prosthetics used to de-age both the characters of Nick Fury and Agent Coulson. That would be the standout technical achievement of the film. Eventhough this film keeps Marvel Cinematic Universe's streak running, it wasn't exactly it's best entry. Yet, as the mid-credits scene suggests, we can't wait to see her team up with the rest of her crew in Avengers: Endgame.
